CSRM designed the Logandale Trails System Interpretive Plan to encourage visitors to the area to act and recreate responsibly. Through the interpretive efforts, CSRM sought users to take responsibility for the area, encouraging them to consider themselves stewards of the land. Informing the user of the rules and the resources found in the LTS is an important element to changing use patterns.

Interpretive Approach

• Themes and Objectives. The themes are the main topics of understanding that the visitor should understand. These are conveyed through a variety of media and should be consistent throughout the visitor experience. The objectives are the pieces of information that a visitor should know at the end of their LTS experience.
• Future Interpretive Program. The Interpretive Plan identifies four key elements of the visitor experience: outreach and pre-arrival, which could include a visit to a website, advertisement, viewing a brochure; on-site orientation and access, which takes place at the arrival and helps the visitor plan his or her time at the site; on-site exploration, which is the visitors' experiences at the site; and off-site programming and links, how visitors can follow-up on their LTS experience. The desired future and the actions required to reach the desired future are discussed. The actions may include various media outreach.
• Partnerships. Due to the limits of BLM staff time, CSRM determined that partnerships are a necessity if the Interpretive Plan is to succeed. Based on this, CSRM identified opportunities for commercial, government, Tribal, non-profit, and individual help.
